Lampung Marriott Resort & Spa

A Coastal Escape Just Outside the City

Lampung’s hospitality scene quietly stepped up with the arrival of the Lampung Marriott Resort & Spa, a five-star beachfront property that officially began welcoming guests around late 2024–early 2025, marking Marriott International’s first presence in Lampung.

We found out about newly opened Mariott when I was planning for our getaway trip to Pahawang Island and Lampung. The pictures from their website is stunning so staying in Mariott quickly made it to our itinerary. After staying in a small island, it is nice to go back to the main land and enjoy a five star Hotel facility.

Location: Where Exactly Is It?

The resort is located at:

Jl. Pantai Mutun, Desa Hurun, Pesawaran Regency, Lampung

This places it:

Right on the coast near Pantai Mutun Close to island-hopping spots like Pahawang Island Surrounded by relatively untouched natural scenery

The setting is one of its strongest selling points—quiet, scenic, and removed from the bustle of Bandar Lampung.

How Far & How Long to Get There?

From Bandar Lampung city center:

Distance: ~20 km Travel time: ~30 minutes by car

From Radin Inten II Airport:

Distance: ~38–40 km Travel time: ~1 hour to 1 hour 10 minutes

This makes it surprisingly accessible—close enough for a short weekend escape, yet far enough to feel like a true getaway.

We travelled from Ketapang Port and it only took us 20 minutes to reach the Hotel.

Rooms & Accommodation

The resort offers around 160+ rooms, suites, and villas, many designed with ocean-facing views.

Typical room features:

Spacious layouts (~43 sqm for standard rooms) Private balconies (in many categories) Modern bathrooms with bathtub + shower Work desk (helpful if mixing work & leisure) Coffee/tea facilities and minibar

Higher-tier options include:

Suites for more space Villas for privacy and a more exclusive stay

Overall design leans toward modern tropical—clean, calming, and light-filled.

We stayed in a Duplex room which can cater 4-5 people. Perfect if you’re traveling with family.

Tips: Duplex room sold out fast as there are only a few of them. Prices also go up closer to long weekend. Booking early is key 😉

Facilities & Experiences

Set along a pristine stretch of coastline, the resort feels less like a typical city hotel and more like a curated tropical retreat—designed for those who want to slow down, without traveling too far from Jakarta or Lampung

This is where the property really stands out.

Core Facilities

  • Private beach access (1.5 km coastline)
  • Multiple outdoor pools (including kids pool)
  • Full-service spa (Quan Spa)
  • 24-hour fitness center
  • Kids club & playground

Dining

  • Hara at The Hurun – all-day dining (Indonesian & international)
  • Way Manom – beachfront dining experience
  • Annona Café – coffee and light bites

Activities

  • Snorkeling & kayaking: They have their own baby shark farm where you can snorkel and observe these babies
  • Paddle boarding Beach activities
  • Family-friendly experiences (including small animal encounters): They have a small aviary and animal conservation

The resort blends relaxation and activity well—you can do absolutely nothing… or fill your day easily.

Why It Stands Out

What makes the Lampung Marriott particularly interesting is its positioning:

Closest “luxury resort feel” from Jakarta without flying far Strong access to Pahawang and nearby islands. If you are not into staying in Pahawang Island, you can opt to stay in Mariott and take a speedboat to explore island around Pahawang

Combines international brand standards with a still-underrated destination

Ideal for: Short weekend escapes Family trips Soft adventure + beach combination

Closing Thoughts

Lampung Marriott Resort & Spa feels like the kind of place that redefines expectations of Lampung—not just as a transit point to Sumatra, but as a destination in itself.

It offers something quite rare in South Sumatera: polished, international-standard beachfront resort that is still surrounded by relatively untouched nature.

For those who want Bali vibe… without flying, this might just be one of the most compelling new escapes to have on your radar.
